Article: Is sleep a love language?

Is sleep a love language?

Is sleep a love language?

Well, no, but it's important!

The "love languages" come from Dr. Gary Chapman's book The Five Love Languages and suggests that people express and experience in different ways.  The five love languages that he identifies are:

1 - Words of affirmation
2 - Acts of service
3 - Receiving gifts
4 - Quality time
5 - Physical touch

Better sleep or good sleep isn't one of the traditional love languages then, but the idea of taking care of someone's well being, including getting good sleep, should be seen as an expression of love through acts of service. Acts of service involve doing things for your partner that you know they'd appreciate.

If a person values and feels loved when their partner helps create an environment that leads to good sleep, like helping with bedtime routines, creating a comfortable sleeping space, or providing emotional support for better sleep, then it could be considered a way of expressing love within the framework of acts of service.
