"Come as you are, as you were," I mouth the lyrics over and over. Hours earlier I'd spotted "come as you are" as a back shoulder tattoo, and that tattoo turned into a lively Nirvana riff with my friend as we wandered through narrow streets in Italy. Our eyes met between lines and we shared a smile, each dancing just a little. The freckle on her bottom lip gets me every time, and it's fun getting to know a new place and new people.

But Airbnb pillows usually aren't fun.

I couldn't sleep that night, lots of reasons, but those Airbnb pillows definitely contributed to a restless night. And so I'm making a plea to the Airbnb hosts out there - buy better pillows!

Ever take a pillow case off an Airbnb pillow? Don't.

Been limited to a single pillow per person? Yuck.

Neck pain from a brick of a pillow? Happens.

Airbnb reviews are something of a double high five. Five stars for the host, five stars for the guest, and everyone's happy. But you've got to communicate - in relationships and in Airbnb reviews - and so send the host that personal message that won't be public, and let them know that their pillows aren't good. And tell them to buy Queen Anne pillows too.

Hosts, buy better pillows, and put pillow protectors on them, because, you know.

Wash the pillows once in a while between guests. Our Majesty Down pillows are both machine washable and dryer friendly, and every pillow comes with a wool dryer ball to help dry them quicker and maintain its loft.

And for the love of all types of sleep, please have enough pillows in your Airbnb! Any queen or king bed should have four pillows, and to really overachieve, have a mix of soft, medium, and firm. If skimping, buy a four pack of medium fill to cut it down the middle.

"Come as you are, as you were," I say one more time and smile. I can't wait to travel again.  Those Airbnb pillows though...
