    WHAT MAKES THE BEST COMFORTER

Baffle Box Design vs. Sewn-Through Design

Baffle Box Design Comforters (Queen Anne Style)

    • Strips of fabric are sewn inside the comforter, creating a four-cornered container for the comforter’s fill (called Baffle Boxes).
    • The priority for a Baffle Box design is that each box contains the exact same amount of fill and that there is room in each box for that fill to “breathe.”
    • The result is that a baffle box comforter provides equal insulation all around (meaning your shoulders, hips, and toes are equally warm and snug)
    • Baffle box comforters are also more fluffy because the fill is able to absorb more air and move around, giving the comforter a softer, loftier feel.

Sewn-through Design Comforters (sometimes called Bavarian Design)

    • The top and bottom layer of the comforter are simple sewn together to create pockets of fill.
    • It’s much harder to create evenly-distributed fill with this method, meaning that cold pockets of thin fill may be present, as well as large uneven clumps.  Heat also easily escapes through the sewing, as there is nothing but the thread holding it back.
    • Additionally, sewn-through pockets are much smaller than baffle boxes and restrict the fill’s ability to move and remain fluffy. Thus, sewn-through comforters can quickly become flat and dull.

This comforter is available in Full/Queen and King sizes. We also offer two weights: Summer and All Season.

Our Summer fill is a bit lighter than the All Season. It's perfect for warm summer months or for folks who live in the sunbelt all year round.

The All Season fill is a fuller fill that will keep you at a comfortable temperature all year round (including the winter).

      Care Instructions

Machine wash on gentle cycle.  Cold water.  Do not bleach.  Air Dry or tumble dry on low.
